I'm outside the main Facebook demographic too, but to my great surprise have acquired 60 friends. 13 of these I have never met in the flesh; my newest friend has a name I can't even pronounce.

Most of the others are clients and colleagues. When I see them at meetings I feel paralysed by not knowing whether I should refer to the random details of their lives that I have picked up from their Facebook profiles. To refer to these things feels stalkerish, and not to do so feels weirdly stand-offish. I wonder if others struggle with Facebook-era etiquette too.
