Don't want to see the mountain lion disappear. One has been rumored to be hunting here in the hills of Malvern for the last decade. We definitely have bears and coyotes, and of course we have dogs. The danger that dogs present is undeniable, partly caused by too much inbreeding by people who try to profit from the dog business. The Amish puppy mills are notorious for their cruelty and ample proof that the Amish are not the gentle people. Instead of contrasting dogs with other animals,I like to line them up against the human species. I think it is clear that the canines cause far less damage. I have had to euthanize a vicious pet and go to the ER once when my food-aggressive black-and-tan coonhound tried to eat my left hand, but I still have him and can compensate for his stupidity by trying to be a little bit smarter myself. My five large hounds and my tiny Chihuahua coexist with each other and me, and I suspect they would not mind the mountain lion if they should meet it. This lion, though, prefers the company of white-tailed deer.
